I'm Andy Gardner, the Scientific Director of the Molecular Enzymology Division at New England Biolabs. Over the past 40 years, Biolabs has been famous for our enzymes and as a research division, we are proud of our role in discovering new enzymes and understanding how they work.

In our research programs, we use a variety of techniques to ask: what is the enzyme activity, what are the most important parts of that enzyme, and how can we engineer enzymes to have new activities? Our expertise in enzymology enables us as well as our customers to use enzymes in new and creative ways to accelerate both basic research discoveries as well as innovations in biotechnology workflows.
